For Pete's Sake has been reviewed in the NSW Daily Telegraph and Victorian Sunday Herald Sun:

NSW Daily Telegraph 16/3/2006:

***1/2 out of *****

"Producer Peter Dawkins had a CV which read like a who's who of Aussie rock and pop in the '70s and '80s before he was stuck with Parkinson's Disease. His condition deteriorated to a point where he urgently needed an operation but didn't have the cash. Enter Sony/BMG boss Denis Handlin and others with a CD of some of his best work. You get some early John Farnham songs, Dragon's insistent riffola on April Sun In Cuba and some almost forgotten novelty hits such as The Ornsby Brothers' You Don't Own Me. Hits so good, Jeff Fenech would be proud. SD"

VIC Sunday Herald Sun 19/3/2006

**** out of ****

"For two decades from 1972, New Zealander Peter Dawkins turned pop and rock material into minor masterpieces - and it didn't matter which end of the spectrum you inhabited.

He outmatched the original Rock Me Baby, giving an earthy feel to the Johnny Farnham hit. He did it again for Farnham following up with Brian Cadd's Don't You Know It's Magic, a tour de force of the era's pop possibilities.

At the same time he executed a brilliant production of Russell Morris's Wings Of An Eagle; I Am Pegasus (Ross Ryan); Love and Other Bruises (Air Supplu); and Slim Dusty's finest moment, The Lights on the Hill.

Up the other end of the dial he worked with Dragon (Are You Old Enough, April Sun In Cuba), Australian Crawl (Errol, Things Don't Seem) and Mi-Sex.

Peter's crook and needs expensive care. As Ian Meldrum would say, 'Do yourself - and Pete - a favour'. Pete Best"
